Causes And Symptoms Of Ms Incontinence

As a disease, ms incontinence has many different symptoms. Multiple sclerosis is often abbreviated as ms in medical literature. It is a very debilitating disease and can cause may secondary problems. The secondary problems caused by multiple sclerosis or ms can lead to tertiary problems it affects the quality of life in a very bad way. As mentioned above, there are many different symptoms that sign the onset of incontinence caused by multiple sclerosis. Ms induced incontinence means that the person can not hold their urine inside their bladder. It might also refer to the inability of the bowels to hold back faeces.

Multiple Sclerosis Limited is primarily caused because of defects on the nervous system. The bladder is controlled by a part of a spinal cord. If that part of a spinal cord is affected by an accident or otherwise, it can cause the onset of ms. The onset of ms often causes incontinence of the bladder. Research shows that fifty to sixty percent of the poeple who develop ms go on to develop incontinence later in life. This percentage can be as high as eighty or ninety. The changes are even worse for people who have other chronic diseases. People who are diabetic have three to four times more chances of developing ms incontinence. People with cardiac issues have six to seven times more chances to develop ms incontinence.

People who develop ms contract incontinence within an average of four to five months. Sometimes incontinence can take upto ten to fifteen years to develop. In rare cases, the symptoms of incontinence do not develop at all after ms. It is advisable to adopt a healthy lifestyle to prevent other chronic diseases that might make ms worse if it does develop. This is especially important as ms is far from the only disease that affects a person if they develop ms.  Young people ar especially advised to spot a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle helps avoid excess fat in the body. It also helps prevent an accumulation of saturated fats in the body. Saturated fats are the primary cause of heart disease. And as mentioned above, cardiac issues can make ms incontinence more likely to develop. Additionally, cardiac issues also make MS incontinence symptoms aggravated.

Similarly it is advised to prevent any back injuries as it is the spine that holds the part of the nervous system that controls bladder activity. If the spine is damaged, ms incontinence can set in very quickly. It never takes long for the symptoms of ms incontinence to aggravate once the spinal cord is affected. The spinal cord is the second most important part of the nervous system after the brains. It controls many bodily functions on its own without the interference of the brain in any way.
